Childhood, Alcohol & Safety

Children across Greenland have shared something important!

“When my parents drink, I feel scared.”
“I go hungry when they’re drunk.”
“We want peace, love, and protection.”

These voices became the heartbeat of this animation—created to raise awareness, create conversation, and protect futures.

Case Study:

Using animation to amplify the voices of Greenlandic children

The Problem: Harm from Alcohol, Silenced Voices

Many children in Greenland live in homes affected by alcohol abuse. Their experiences are often invisible and unspoken. There was a growing need to raise awareness in a way that was safe, emotional, and accessible.

Solution: A 2D Animation Told from the Child’s Perspective

We worked closely with Government of Greenland, Center for Public Health Greenland, Unicef & MIO to develop an animation based on real child testimonies. The video uses storytelling and visual metaphors to create empathy and start conversations—both at home and in schools.

Result: Policy Engagement & Public Awareness

The video has been used in public campaigns, shared by stakeholders, and recognized for its emotional clarity. It contributes to broader efforts to protect children’s rights and reshape how alcohol-related trauma is discussed in Greenland.
